Being a native Coloradoan, and from a family of seamstresses, Kari grew up surrounded by creativity, fabric and of course quilts. The love of color and design was first shown in her creations of stained glass art. Her pieces received many awards and recognitions, and can be found in many homes around the country. When a favorite piece was broken, re-creating it in fabric was a logical choice. This led to a career designing quilt patterns under the Mountainpeek Creations name, as well as managing one of the largest quilt stores in the Rocky Mountain Region.
Kari's patterns are sold throughout the United States and internationally and give quilters unique and contemporary designs for multiple skill levels. The patterns have been featured in multiple publications, including McCall's Quilting, Quilter, Quick Quilts and more. Retiring from the retail store, which is a subsidiary of Mountainpeek, has given new life to designing and to Quilting Renditions, Kari's new design company.
When Kari is not quilting, you will find her enjoying her Grandchildren, traveling and occasionally jumping out of airplanes!
